If that title doesn’t get you salivating, we might not be able to be friends anymore 😉 I was SO excited the first time that I made this recipe. Because it’s incredible. The berries and honey create something soooooooooooooooooo sweet that it could probably power unicorn-driven rockets into space. It beats the ever-living tar out of supermarket brands and handily creates a better product even than the highest end sorbets.
And I just can’t get over how sweet it is! All without artificial sweetners or cane/beet sugar! Just the natrual sweetness of the berries and a (more than) healthy dose of honey!
Honestly, there isn’t a ton to say about this particular recipe, because you will be using the magical power of an ice cream maker to produce it. I use this one from Cuisinart. And I genuinely recommend it. For the price, I wouldn’t even consider using another product.
Regardless of the ice cream maker that you choose to use, there is an extremely important consideration to make: FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! That was my fatal mistake in my first two tries of this recipe. The result was still delicious, but ice cream, it was not. So do yourself a favor and follow the directions.
I felt so good about myself when I made this ice cream. Why? BECAUSE I MADE ICE CREAM DANG IT! It was challenging (mostly because I decided to not follow directions). But the sense of acheivement that I get from putting these recipes together and really feeling the natural taste of the food combined with carefully chaotic preparation is something to really be savored. It’s a kind of pimeval satisfaction from knowing that I can make my own things. When I cook, I commandeer my own food-driven unicorn-login’ food-consumin’ kingdom.
So eat, drink and make this recipe! Because honestly, this is sorbet at its best. And tastiest. and amazingest. And . . . you get the point! ‘Till next time!
- 2 cups each of blackberries, blueberries and raspberries
- 1.5 cups honey
- 3 leaves apple mint (you can get away with another mint if you so desire, but I really prefer the apple mint)
- Puree the berries and the apple mint
- Put them into your ice cream maker, followed by the honey
- Follow the instructions on your ice cream maker from there!
