Mark your calendars. This may be the first week of the year that I’m not exhausted at the end of. Why? We’ll talk about that in a second. First thing’s first. This week we talked about Roasted Grape Chipotle Panini, found 11 recipes that make you feel and feast like a royal, and reviewed how to make the simplest triple-berry pie! If there’s anything you missed, now’s your chance to go and check it out!
Back to me not being exhausted. I’m actually more energized right at the end of this week than I was at the beginning. And that’s not altogether common, is it? I asked myself, “Self, how this could be?” After a bit of thought, the answer wasn’t that hard to find. This week, I’ve instituted a morning routine that involves working out, walking 3 miles and practicing guitar. My mornings are IMPERATIVE to the rest of my day. If I can get at least 3 things done by 11, I’ll have a super productive day. If I don’t, I have a tendency to just give up and let the day die. No bueno. But this morning routine gets me moving, active and productive. And energized.
Which gets me thinking. There is so much about our happiness that’s out of our control that we sometimes completely neglect those parts of our happiness that are in our control. And there’s a lot that, as free people, we can control. We’re not happiest when we give up control, we’re happiest when we accept what we cannot control and influence what we can.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking what to put as my weekly music recommendation. And I’ve been listening to one song not non-stop, but still quite a bit. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOMWNgejuPc
And that’s it! Check out the weekly link roundup and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
